Scott’s Country Hoedown is the perfect night out for country music fans, families, couples and groups of friends. Enjoy live entertainment, explore the Pumpkin Patch after hours and soak up the atmosphere of our western-themed autumn event.

Every person attending, including babies in arms and complimentary carers, must have a valid ticket.

Live country entertainment
Enjoy an evening of country music with a live singer, instructor-led line dancing and country karaoke.
Whether you already know the steps or have never tried line dancing before, everyone is welcome to join in. You can also take to the microphone for country karaoke or simply enjoy the music and atmosphere.
Entertainment times and the running order may vary during each session.
Bucking bronco
Think you have what it takes to stay in the saddle?
The bucking bronco is an optional paid activity and is not included with admission. It is strictly for guests aged 18 or over.
Rides are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed. All riders must meet the operator’s safety requirements and follow their instructions.
Guests who are pregnant, medically unsuitable or under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to ride.
Explore the Pumpkin Patch after hours
Experience our outdoor Pumpkin Patch in the evening and enjoy western-themed displays, autumn props and seasonal photo opportunities.
Pumpkins are not included with admission and can be purchased separately, with prices starting from £1. Available sizes, colours and varieties will depend on the harvest and remaining availability.
The Pumpkin Patch is on natural outdoor ground, which may be wet, muddy or uneven. Please wear suitable outdoor footwear and clothing.
The Pumpkin Barn
Step inside our fully covered Pumpkin Barn, packed with pumpkins, Halloween art walls, autumn displays and photo opportunities.
The Pumpkin Barn has a flat surface and provides the most accessible part of the event for visitors who may find the outdoor areas difficult to navigate.
Maize Maze
Make your way through the Maize Maze as part of your Hoedown experience.
The Maize Maze is an outdoor, crop-based attraction and may be restricted or closed if weather, ground, crop or operational conditions make it unsafe.
The temporary or complete closure of the Maize Maze will not entitle visitors to a full or partial refund, provided the main Hoedown event remains open.
Children must remain with their accompanying adult inside the maze.
See our Highland cows
Our Highland cows can be seen in their paddock during the event. They are a viewing attraction only and must be treated with care and respect.
Visitors must not feed or touch the cows, shout at them, climb over the fence or enter their enclosure.
Anyone who ignores the animal-welfare signs or staff instructions will be asked to leave the event immediately. No refund will be given.
Food, drinks and additional extras
Food and drink from Essex Foodies Market will be available to purchase throughout the evening.
The following will also be available at an additional cost:
• Pumpkins, with prices starting from £1
• Bucking bronco for guests aged 18 or over
• Personalised trucker hats from Never Ending Chain
• Hair braiding
• Seasonal merchandise
Food, drinks, pumpkins and optional activities are not included with admission. Individual traders, menus and activities are subject to availability.
Children and carers
Child tickets are available for guests under 18. Visitors under 18 must attend with and remain under the supervision of a responsible adult aged 18 or over.
Babies in arms can attend free but must have a valid complimentary ticket.
One qualifying carer may attend free when accompanying an adult or child who requires support and has a valid paid ticket in the same booking.
The carer and the person receiving care must arrive together. Valid supporting evidence, such as a Carer ID or DLA letter for the person receiving care, must be presented at the entrance.
Accessibility and outdoor conditions
The Pumpkin Barn is fully covered and has a flat surface.
The outdoor Pumpkin Patch and Maize Maze are situated on natural ground, which may be uneven, wet, slippery or muddy. Some areas may be difficult to access with wheelchairs, mobility scooters or pushchairs.
Visitors with specific accessibility requirements are encouraged to contact Scott’s of Southend before booking.
Accessible toilets will be available on site.
Where to find the event
Scott’s Country Hoedown is held in the field and polytunnel on the right-hand side of the site. The event has a dedicated entrance accessible directly from the car park.
Please follow the Hoedown signs when you arrive.
